An essential component in the diesel electronic control system, this sensor provides the vehicleâ¬"s powertrain control module with exhaust inlet temperature at the EGR cooler. This is used to determine EGR cooler efficiency. Failure of this component can result in a check engine light and excessive exhaust emissions.
