A lesser-known but critical component of the braking system is the Brake Dust Shield. This part shields suspension and drivetrain components from the extreme heat generated during braking, while protecting the brake rotors, calipers and pads from environmental elements that can compromise braking performance. The original dust shield has a tendency to rust, bend, and even crack, allowing dirt and debris to contaminate the critical braking components.
