MX5 ND NA Upgrade Kit with Twin Dual Exhaust Tips

AVO has been a MX5 Roadster fan from the first NA6 Roadster that was first released in 1989. Now the new Mazda ND Roadster with the SKYACTIV 1.5 and 2.0 liter motor has just been released, and with it Mazda has gone back to its original roadster roots that made it so famous. The lightweight ND MX5 just feels fun to drive.

AVOTurboworld's aim with its aftermarket modifications is to improve the driving experience further with our performance package. This car is best driven with the top down, and the thing that we found it really lacks is the lack of engine intake and exhaust noise to make it feel truly like a sports car. Our package finishes it off to give you that total sports car experience.

The AVO NA kit does this by including a full 304 stainless steel exhaust system from the header back. The AVO system includes a stainless-steel high-flow (160 cell count) catalytic converter with a 5-inch diameter body to reduce back pressure in the exhaust system. Our polished rear muffler is made from 1.5mm thick 304 stainless-steel, and is fully tig welded. Inside the muffler chamber there is stainless steel perforations with 1200c° muffler wool to keep the sound as quiet as possible. The exhaust flanges are die cast stainless and ½" thickness so warping is out of the question. The system will never rust and will probably outlast the car.
The AVO muffler is tucked up under the rear bumper in the OEM position and has our new GEN II exhaust system design. The exhaust tips are twin exit dual rolled polished style which really shows you mean business. These can only be fitted with either a modified rear bumper or an aftermarket bumper such as the Damd unit. The reduced back pressure of the AVO exhaust system as a whole gets rid of the terrible dip in the torque curve, and the improved flow increases performance throughout the rev range, giving it a deep sporty note from the rear of the vehicle.

The AVO 4 into 1 Ceramic Coated Headers have been tested thoroughly to ensure the pipe sizing is correct and that the collector flows well for best power and torque. These are stainless 304 pipes with a cast stainless collector which is the best for reliability as there are no welds and therefore not subject to the usual cracking that can happen around collector.

The intake kit includes an AVO high flow silicone intake pipe that is manufactured to OEM standards, which is combined with the AVO high-flow flat panel air filter (dry cotton). This combination allows the intake air flow to increase for an overall air flow increase of 10.52%. The Mazda SKYACTIV engine ECU has a KCS learning feature which means that as long as the engine is not detonating the ignition timing will advance to optimal performance and the closed loop dual 5 wire lambda sensors also always look for the optimal AFR. 

Tuning options is by AVO Turboworld via its Power + Reflash Tool that simply plugs in to the OBD Port and allows you to save your standard NA stock car file. Then by following the on screen commands, this will allow you to flash your car with the AVO NA Stage 1 base map that is provided with the purchase of the AVO Turboworld Stage 1 NA kit.

With the additional 10 grams per second air flow increase on the intake and less back pressure in the exhaust and a tune via AVO Power + to combine all the parts together this translated to an increase of 15% more engine performance. The power increase out on the road makes the car feel sharper and more responsive and better than you think because of the power to weight ratio improvement on a 1000kg mass weight.
