Alternators that come loose are a pain, so that's why ARP came up with these super tough bolts (your choice of chrome moly steel or polished stainless (ARP 300 both rated 170,000 psi). The stainless has the added advantage of being rust and corrosion resistant. Alternator Stud Kit

To prevent this from ever happening, conscientious engine builders rely on ARP's bulletproof alternator studs. They're made from a premium grade 8740 chrome moly steel alloy and heat-treated to a nominal 200,000 psi tensile strength.
