APR GTC-200 Carbon Fiber Gurney Flap  GTC-200 VERSION 1

Gurney flaps are now available for all of APR's GTC-series (200/300/500) wings. These are super lightweight, made in carbon fiber using the pre-preg "dry" carbon process, and conform perfectly to the contours of the GTC-series 3D airfoils. They are easily attached using the included double-sided tape.

Gurney flap is a small perpendicular tab mounted at the trailing edge of a wing. Its primary purpose is to increase downforce by enhancing the pressure differential across the airfoil.

Gurney flap generates a recirculation region and a pair of counter-rotating vortices behind the trailing edge, which help maintain attached airflow over the upper surface of the wing. This allows the airfoil to operate at higher angles of attack before flow separation and stall occur.
