ACT kits come in a variety of discs: 4 puck, 6 puck, and full-face. The full face is more friendly for street driving because the disc can absorb more initial shock and transfer power safely to the drive train. 4 puck clutches are the complete opposite and transfer the power faster. Therefore it is well suited for track driving. The 6-puck clutch can be viewed as the happy medium between the 2 extremes.
Most disc options are also available in sprung and un-sprung discs. The sprung disc has actual springs around the center of the disc, and this absorbs the initial load and vibration similar to the full face disc. The un-sprung disc can cause "chattering" sounds and cause rough takeoff for street driving. Un-sprung is usually recommended for track driving. The benefit of the un-sprung disc is that it will transfer power faster, but the trade off is the streetability.
