How to install RS-R Sportsi Coilovers

Difficulty: Moderate

Step 1

Lift the car safely and securely

Remove the wheels.

Step 2

For vehicles with ABS, remove the ABS sensor fastened to shock.

Proceed with removing the clip fastening the brake cable to the front shock.

Step 3

Loosen but do not remove top 14mm bolt in engine bay.

Then proceed to removing the 19mm lower shock body bolts.

Step 4

While supporting the shock, remove the top bolts.

Once upper mount nuts are removed, suspension component can be taken out.

Step 5

Install coilover's lower bolts to the knuckles.

Step 6

Using a sturdy lifting device, raise the lower control arm with the coilover up the preferred height and secure the mounts to the chassis.

Secure the top nuts.

Step 7

Once the top nuts are secured, proceed to tighten the lower nuts.

Then secure all brake lines to their proper locations.

Repeat steps to remove the other side.

Step 8

Now on to the rear coilovers.

Lower rear seat by pulling the two tabs.

Then you can slide the radio cover panel off.

Step 9

Laugh at the pirate while laughing like a pirate.

Remove the two top nuts.

Proceed to remove lower 17mm bolts that secure the bottom of the shock.

Step 10

Install the lower mounting eye bolt on to the knuckle.

Note: Certain coilovers may come with a longer spacer or have a longer portion of the shock in the eye bolt. Make sure to longer side resting on the side of the knuckle.

Step 11

Using the preferred lifting device, lift the coilover up through the rear slots and bolt in the bottom 17mm bolts to secure.
