FRSport BRZ Takes the Win at SCCA Phoenix National Tour in C Street Touring

The 2025 autocross season is in full swing on the west coast, and the SCCA Phoenix National Tour, the first event of the national season and the debut of the newly formed C Street Touring (CST) class, was the perfect proving ground for the FRSport BRZ. With the ND Miata being moved into A Street Touring, CST is now a fresh battleground for competition between the BRZ/GR86, S2000, and NC Miata. Driving his 2022 Subaru BRZ, Sam Mayorga not only dominated his class but also finished an impressive 7th out of 130 competitors in PAX, proving just how far his setup has become. Mayorga’s BRZ has undergone meticulous refinement over the past two months, with multiple revisions including suspension tuning and alignment adjustments making the biggest difference. With a lower ride height, optimized camber settings, and finely tuned compression and rebound, the car felt perfectly balanced. The FR Sport-prepped setup includes:

• Fujitsubo EPU Exhaust System – Providing optimized flow and a refined exhaust note without unnecessary weight.

• Cusco Zero 3X Coilovers – Custom valving, spring rates, and 3-way adjustability between rebound, low-speed, and high-speed compression. 

• K System Pro Big Brake Conversion Kit – A bracket and caliper kit that fits on stock sized rotors and saves a significant amount of weight on the front end when paired with two-piece rotors. 

With these components and the latest suspension adjustments, Mayorga’s BRZ was razor-sharp, allowing him to push the limits on the fast and flowing Phoenix course.

With this strong start to the season, Mayorga and his FR Sport-prepped BRZ have firmly established themselves as a force to be reckoned with in the CST class. As the SCCA Solo National Tour and ProSolo continues, refining his setup and building on this momentum will be key in the push toward Nationals.
