The clutch area is slightly smaller than the original clutch and despite the sporty feeling, it is easy to handle and has a solid feeling operability. Because it is a strap drive type, no sound will be generated when the clutch is disconnected.

For light shift change, a lightweight clutch disc is required. ORC developed the Light disk with emphasis on weight saving. Adopted the organic (organic) type friction material which is adopted also in the original clutch disc. As certified with a genuine clutch, the organic friction material is characterized by its superior ride ease.

In order to increase ease of handling of half clutch and realize soft feeling, cushion was provided between friction materials. The organic friction material and the cushioning effect made it possible to reduce the impact torque during shift change. This made it possible to eliminate the damper section, and were able to reduce the weight of the disk.

When the standard cover is used, the clutch pedal effort is close to the genuine clutch, reducing fatigue. The clutch pedal effort of the original clutch is about 12 kgf. When using the high crimp cover, set to pedal depressing force of about 30% genuine. For other ORC series, this will be the pedaling effort of this intermediate level. The generally reinforced clutch of the other company has the same pedal effort as when using the high crimp cover.

By combining lightweight flywheel and lightweight clutch cover, reduces the overall clutch weight by about 20% to 40% (excluding some) relative to normal parts. Although further weight saving is possible, it is suppressed to this extent because idling becomes very unstable when excessive weight saving is done, and the engine stops suddenly. Since the flywheel has the high revolution, strength and balance must be excellent. Also, because it is used under severe conditions, easy weight reduction is accompanied by the danger of bursting. As a result, ORC improves burst strength by highly accurate calculation by computer analysis and appropriate material selection.
